Outside of our understanding, there’s a place. A place with no bounds, devoid of everything and anything we consider normal, except for the very thing that keeps everything together. 

When Dalton was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 7, he was living in a small town, far from any urban sprawls or bustling highways. Life, for the most part, was quiet. A few friends, some birthday parties, the loathed doctor’s appointments. However, when his mother received an opportunity of a lifetime, everything changed. 

In the big city, Dalton could only make a few friends in school. He was an outsider, ignorant to city culture. With the building stress of feeling exposed and unwelcomed, Dalton’s epilepsy worsened. In the past, he’d only have a few myoclonic seizures here, or an absence seizure there, but now? Doctors tried medication, therapy, all of it. Yet, they couldn’t figure out how to help the poor kid.

After highschool, following a series of traumatic events, and insurmountable guilt, Dalton realized something. The city, a place so big, so loud, so vast– it was the perfect place for a quiet life. No one knows who you are, you can just hide. So, aside from his few remaining connections, that’s what Dalton did– he hid.

Now, his seizures continue to build. The stress pulls on his psyche, the anxiety gnaws on his chest, and he is lost. No goals, no aspirations. He’s just a man, living to see tomorrow. But there’s one thing that is always picking at his mind. When he blacks out from a seizure, there’s always something that lingers. A bright flash of color, and a voice.

Blackout is a choice-based adult visual novel, where you’ll be exposed to the good, the bad, and the ugly. What you do with it, and how it’ll all transpire, will be entirely up to you.
